This week I read something very interesting - and potentially polarizing - on Merriam-Webster's social media that's worth talking about. According to the editors, a preposition is a perfectly acceptable word to end a sentence with. Apparently, we can blame English poet and writer John Dryden for originating the belief that we shouldn't end a sentence with a preposition, which made it into English grammar textbooks and became a common rule to live by.
But these dictionary editors say, if it feels natural to do it, go on.
And they note, if anyone gives you flak about it, you can quote Winston Churchill, who purportedly said, "This is just the type of nonsense up with which I will not put!"
If you've visited our website lately, you may have noticed our "Order Online" feature to easily place and pay for pickup orders is back up and running.
We've also added a feature to purchase Antoni's gift cards online! Simply go to the online ordering page and click "Purchase Gift Card" on the right. It will provide a QR code that can be scanned at the restaurant to redeem your balance.
In other news, we've decided to get with the times, now offering plastic wallet-sized gift cards for purchase. It was time to upgrade, and we think you'll love the sleek, colorful design.
We'll see you when you get here!
